Overview

A busy, multi-category neighbourhood store

Wangchuk Mart is a busy neighbourhood departmental store stocking a wide and varied range of products — cosmetics and toiletries, toys, stationery, household goods, gift items, and everyday essentials. Like many growing retail stores in Bhutan, the team had been managing daily operations through manual registers and memory-based stock tracking.

As the product range expanded and customer footfall grew, so did the challenge of keeping pace. Wangchuk Mart needed a system that could bring structure to their operations without slowing down the counter — and a partner who would set it up properly, on the ground.

The Challenge

Manual processes couldn't keep pace with a growing store

  • No real-time stock visibility — knowing what was on the shelf meant physically checking, and fast-moving items often ran out unnoticed.

  • Slow, error-prone billing — manual price lookups and handwritten bills made the checkout counter a bottleneck during peak hours.

  • Limited business insight — with sales and stock recorded on paper, it was difficult to know which products performed, what needed reordering, or how the business was truly doing.

  • GST and record-keeping — keeping compliant, audit-ready records by hand is time-consuming and easy to get wrong.

The Solution

The retail operating system built for Bhutan

Wangchuk Mart chose aBitPOS — the retail operating system built specifically for Bhutan. Beyond fast billing, aBitPOS gave the team real-time inventory control, GST-ready records, and a clear view of their business — all from one platform, with local support just a call away.

Barcode-driven fast checkout

Every sale is scanned and billed in seconds. No manual price lookups, no handwritten bills — just a fast, accurate counter even during peak hours.

Real-time inventory control

Live stock counts across every category — cosmetics, toys, stationery, household goods and more — so fast-moving items get reordered before they run out.

GST-ready, audit-ready records

Sales and purchases are captured cleanly and stay compliant — no more reconstructing records by hand at filing time.

A clear view of the business

Sales and stock reporting turn guesswork into data — what's selling, what needs reordering, and how the store is really doing.

On-site setup & local support

aBit consultant Novin Biswa set the system up on the ground and trained the team hands-on — with ongoing local support just a call away.

The Implementation

A focused, hands-on deployment over two days

aBit delivered a focused, hands-on deployment over two days, led by consultant Novin Biswa.

  1. Day 1

    Setup & training

Completed store setup, including store profile and core system configuration. Sat down with the owner to understand the business and finalise the right modules for their needs, then walked through every module — explaining the workflow, providing hands-on training, and answering questions throughout. The opening stock sheet was prepared in Excel, ready for a clean data import.

  2. Day 2 · Go-Live

    Live setup, go-live & handover

Configured the actual business data — importing products and opening stock from the prepared Excel sheet, along with opening account balances. The system was taken fully live for real-world operations, system stability was confirmed, and a full handover for daily operations was completed with support guidance in place.
